If you already ordered tickets for the FIFA World Cup and got a chance to get one of the comfortable hotel rooms, then luck you. This means that soon you’ll be engaged in a life where everything is very strange for you.

All of this means that you most likely turned out to learn more about South Africa so as not to be unprepared in the country. And if ignorance of the historical area or the economy of South Africa will not kill anyone, then the knowledge of basic safety rules can save the lives of tourists and also will keep the spirit of the soccer fans in the proper level.

Do not tell everyone that you are a tourist

Unlike Southeast Asia, or the traditionally tolerant in Europe, this statement does not cause any sympathy amongst the locals. On the contrary, the tourist is an easy target, he does not know which way to run, where to seek for help, he does not have local buddies who are willing to stand up for them in case of any kind of conflict.

So it is best to ask the way to the stadium, a porter in a hotel, police or the seller in the store as soon as you arrive to your spot. And even better – in advance to get the path to the desired location on the map think of a couple of replacement options for the security of your trip. This mostly means a road close to the major shopping centers or protected banks.

Do not take help of local residents

Especially if it they are trying to be too friendly. This kind of person is mostly likely a robber or a fraudster, who noted a suitable victim and is going to you to a quiet and comfortable place. And not for the purpose of telling you about the local attractions, but to take all of the “unnecessary stuff” and to share it with his “brothers” among the poor population of Africa. You love to watch movies about Robin Hood, isn’t it?

So it is better, not to get too much of attention of the locals and thus politely and firmly refuse them, without provoking a conflict and continue your route. And even better – quickly reach to a safer place: a major shopping center or police department. Check the map of all of the police stations of the city where you are or where you intend to go.

Do not wear a watch, jewelry and photographic equipments in sights

The idea of leaving it all in the hotel is also non-reasonable. The case of being robbed in the hotel is a common enough phenomenon for SAR, especially in such turbulent times, when all of Europe and America moved to Africa as if on purpose, to enrich a few local criminal associations. Ideally it would not take anything of value to your journey, but if you already took them then you better leave them in your room in a safe place or at the reception. There is a chance that they will rob somebody else.

Do not withdraw money from ATMs at night

Even during the day, in the presence of locals hang out nearby, is not the most convenient time for having this action. If you really had to withdraw money from a card, do it, clinging to the ATM, so no one will see whether you take something or not. And be sure to check whether the consignment is being noted on the card reader, before you get the card into the machine and enter a PIN, otherwise all of your money will be replenished into the account scam.

Do not keep cash in your back pocket

Back pocket is only for the naive, the front for those who have been taught not to keep all the cash in one place. However, from burglars are familiar with this technique thus it will not help. Anyways always put jewelry and money into their hands especially if you are ordered to give everything of value. Do not resist. Remember: life is more expensive than everything else.

Do not go to South African sights alone

Most of the monuments are in very poor and densely populated areas, where life is cheaper than the contents of your pockets and clothing. So you’d better hold on with groups. And even better – in large groups and do not leave your guiding person. Incidentally, it is better to use the services of a tour operator who will advise the hotel, not the first available, advertised on the street. Who knows, maybe this tour operator is the tour “Robin Hood and Sons”.

Do not watch football in the streets with screens

This is something which is popular only even among the local population and especially the poorest, so that the best thing that might happen to tourist here is to return without all the “extra”, but in the case if you will not support the proper team, then you might even suffer physically. Just keep in mind that this is the area where you should avoid going to. And always travel in big companies with the idea that most likely you can disperse in the opinion with the local majority and run up a fight.

So you better watch football in the hotel, in your room or in the hotel bar. Here you will get the same amount of impressions and you’ll have wonderful rest among the society of the tolerant-minded football fans.

Do not lose your attention by renting a car

Most of the hijackers are specialized in cars, thus rather than robbing tourists, they will probably not even touch the tourist, just thrown them out of the car on a deserted road and leave. Still, do not carry valuable things with you or leave them in plain sight. However, the I will not advise you to put all of your stuff into the trunk as the thieves will not give you the chance to pick the luggage from the car. Do not stop on the road to pick up a hitchhiker, even if he is alone and you have a lot of room. The robbers could be hidden nearby. If you are faced with armed criminals, give the keys and get out of the car. Life is more expensive.

If you notice a spy, go to the mall, where it is easier to get lost among the mass of cars, or to the police station. But you mentioned them on the map in green? Here it will be useful.

By the way keep in mind that some of the African animals can also turn into robbers. The most popular robber among the all is surely monkey. So keep your hotel room windows and doors closed if you’re not in it.

And have a good trip!

There is no scientific method for measuring friendliness of the locals, as you can rely only on your subjective impressions and are mainly results of public surveys. Nevertheless, there are countries that are considered to be the most hospitable in the world due to specific characteristics. Thus, the most of hospitable people in the world are:

5. Georgians
According to the results of different ratings and surveys, Georgians are in the fifth place. According to Western travelers, this Caucasian country is worth of attention not only because of the stunning natural beauty of western motifs, unspoiled mountain springs and mineral waters, ancient churches, but also with cheerful and friendly locals who believe that the God is who sends guests. It is not surprising that every visitor feels like a real member in a Georgian house. While enjoying your position, you might be careful not to offend gracious hosts. For example, one of the biggest insults in Georgia is when you refuse to drink the wine offered. However, the recent actions of Georgian politicians slightly spoiled the image of Georgian hospitality, but well the politics is not a game of sample locals.

4. Iranians
Iran thinks that its most precious thing is its people. Lonely Planet calls these people “warm” and “interesting”, while the famous journalist Will Hyde that cooperates with Times, returning from a trip to Iran, wrote that the residents of this state are the most friendly people on the planet. This is something new to know as the comment was made by a public opinion influencing person. As to the data always smiling Iranians are sincere and simple. They are always ready to help travelers by offering them a cup of tea, paying for their lunch or inviting them for dinner, and even inviting to participate in the festivities: if you never visited Iran, then you cannot even assume, how hot local dancing can be!

3. Canadians
According to a study conducted by Nation Brand Index in 2008, which was held among 20 thousand adult citizens of 20 countries, Canada was chosen by the respondents to be the friendliest country from the 50 states offered in the survey. This scientific approach to selecting the most hospitable nation may seem a bit formal and not trust-worthy, but, in fact, Canadians deserve such a title. Lonely Planet was even surprised at how people living in a harsh northern climate, can be so pleasant and sociable as most of the time the conditioning goes the opposite way. After all, existing in cold countries is much more difficult, and therefore friendly, despite the cold, citizens of the maple leaf, of course, deserve this award.

2. Australians
A friendly “no worries” and a big smile are guaranteed to everyone who will be in Australia for even a short stay. Australians are very open and friendly people, and their positive thinking, combined with the friendliness allows any traveler that happened to be in that remote country, to feel as at home. As the tourists who have been to Australia mention, it is impossible for anyone to feel lonely, traveling across the Green continent: the locals are always ready to share with you a pint of beer or a cup of latte. This means that the travelling around this smallest continent will never get boring and after all you’ll have a lot of impressions to share with everybody.

1. The Irish
In the publication of the Bluelist 2008 Lonely Planet have recognized the Irish as the most friendly nation in the world. It makes little sense to discuss if the Irish are more or less welcoming than Canadians or Iranians are Irish are just different. The truth is that the citizens of the country of St. Patrick are really very nice and kind. Despite the fact that Irish are mistakenly described as those who always complain about the weather, the economic difficulties and high prices , they remain good-natured and honest people, always ready to help any tourist. And therefore, despite the inhospitable climate the pleasant nature of the inhabitants of Ireland makes this country one of the best places to travel.

However, perhaps our readers will not agree with this ranking. Everybody has his/her own list of most hospitable countries. We will be interested to hear what nationalities deserve the title of the friendliest, in your opinion.

Halloween is already far way behind, but terrible places in our world have not disappeared with it. All of them still tickle the nerves of horror stories and adrenaline lovers, wishing to see something from which any normal tourist gets away without looking back. Thus, here are the 5 most awful places in the world.

1. Mutter Museum of Medical History in Philadelphia
Mutter Museum of Medical History is a museum of pathologies, ancient medical equipments and biological exhibits, situated in the oldest physicians popular training complex in North America. Most of all this museum is famous for its enormous collection of human skulls, collected here, and various unique exhibits, for example the corpse of a woman who turned into soap in the ground where she was buried. Here you can find Siamese twins with the combined liver, the skeleton-headed child and other gruesome exhibits with a freaky appearance.

2. Truk Lagoon in Micronesia
Much of the Japanese Navy is now on the bottom of a shallow Truk Lagoon in Micronesia, located to the south-west of Hawaii. The blue depths investigated by Jacques Cousteau in 1971 and littered with debris of warships and aircraft carriers sunk in 1944, became available to satisfy the interest of the divers. On the other hand some people are still afraid of the spirits of the crews, who have not left their military posts and are awaiting for the visits. Ships and airplanes have grown long into coral reefs, but until now more and more very curious tourists, who tuck their nose where they shouldn’t, are still becoming the victims of this places.

3. Magical Market Sonora in Mexico City, Mexico
Witches of Mexico, seated in cramped cubicles, might promise you quick relief from poverty and adultery for 10 bucks. Worn out exotic iguanas, frogs and wild birds are hung on the cells and on the walls of the tents and are available for sale for a variety of possible usage. The market of Sonora is open every day for pilgrims from Mexico City and tourists from distant places to go for the fortune and the promise of a better life. This is a place where all the local population buys “supernatural” items, from potions to ancient Aztec recipes to the statues of Buddha. Hardcore enthusiasts, perhaps, will be able to buy here a little blood of rattlesnake or dried humming-birds to curtail luck. But visitors should remember that witchcraft in Mexico is not a joke: The National Association of witches was involved in the presidential elections, to use a spell, to make them honest and free.

4. Easter Island, Chile

One of the most mysterious places on the Earth is Easter Island, where there are huge, carved stone figures of giants, burrowing into the ground under the overcomes of millenniums. The statues are looking straight to the sky, as if they are guilty of some mystical crimes and somehow are still taking the blame for them. And only the stone giants know where are the people, who have once built them , actually if there are any! On Easter Island, there is nobody who knows the secret of building and movement, as well as the installation of these giant statues that rise up to 21 meters and weigh up to 90 tons. But they are often moved for more than 20 kilometers from the quarry where the ancient sculptors worked.

It is believed that once in a while the giant sculptures are switching their places and positions.

Well, except, of course, those who had read about Thor Heyerdahl journeys in childhood. For them, all these mysteries on how the statues were made and who placed them, are no longer a secret.

5. Manchac Swamp in Louisiana

Can you imagine yourself being in a boat with tourists floating in the swamps with a small lit lamp-fire surrounded by the ancient cypress trees in a foggy day. Isn’t this freaking you out? Especially if you are taking into account the long filaments of moss hang from the tree leaves. Howl, which can be heard far from the distance, may belong to rou-ga-rou – the Cajun version of werewolf who takes care of the swamp.

Manchac swamp is also known as “the ghost swamp” . This place is very popular as to be a ghost hotel. It is located near New Orleans, and this is just a ready tale for Goths. It is said that the swamp was cursed by the voodoo queen when she was taken as the prisoner in the beginning of XX century. It resulted in a hurricane in 1915 that vanished three villages on the place. The peace of this bird cemetery is disturbed by only occasionally corpse pop-ups – the legend of commercial natural having a history of 100 years. In addition, the alligators, which are more than corpses here, most likely will not lose the chance to eat some fresh tourist meat.

Goa – one of the nicest places in the world is located on the south-eastern part of India. This small plot of land is almost entirely comprised of not spoiled public beaches. Around 40 beaches stretch for more than 100 km along the coast of the Arabian Sea.

Goa is divided into northern and southern parts. The border is considered to be Fort Aguada. The southern beaches are sandy, clean, designed for wealthy holidaymakers. The sea is warm, calm over there. While not rich tourists, students, hippies, musicians, prefer to stay in the north.

On the beaches there are discos, variety of shops, eateries, bustling bazaars. All the beaches are municipal, but those portions of the beach, which are assigned to specific hotels, are protected.

Usage of the rest of beaches and equipments are free of charge.

North Goa
Tiracol
The regal building, Fort Tiracol, which is now “Heritage” hotel, stands above the deserted beach. Tiracol is the most northern beach of Goa and probably the most wild and untouched by civilization which might attract the attention of those who prefer to have a quite rest by enjoying the nature.

Arambol
Arambol Beach is also known as Harman. The sand here is soft and white. On red soil among the rare stones are cottages and freshwater pond. The road to the beach is surrounded by huts of locals who sell souvenirs and clothing to tourist. While the last offer might sound a more effect reason to visit here.

Vagator
Tour operators have long mastered the Vagator, so it’s quite difficult for tourists to find a place in this hotel.
Steep hill leading down to the beach of Vagator, is enriched by Chapora Fort, built in 1617 by the Portuguese in the ruins of more ancient Islamic buildings. A fantastic view of the neighborhood opens from the fort. In this part of the beach there are high cliffs, popular among honeymooners and those looking for solitude.
A little further south is a small quiet beach, known as Little Vagator beach or Ozran. It is less known and therefore less populated. The uniqueness is guaranteed here.

Anjuna
The beach is located 8 km from the town of Mapusa. In 10-12th centuries the city was a trading port of the Arabs and was called the “Chamber of Commerce.” Now every Wednesday there is a flea market here, which is the most famous and “rich” in the state. Here you can find everything – from products of Tibetan weavers to china cups. But the most amazing is the atmosphere over there and the communications between buyers and sellers.
Anjuna is the most photographed beach of Goa. This means that you will not find privacy here. Lovers of exotics come here from everywhere. Also the full moon night raves are held here. So this is somewhat a perfect spot for those who like even more adventure.

South Goa
Aguada
The beautiful sandy beach, lying under the walls of the old Portuguese fort Aguada, opens a line of beaches in South Goa. Tourists can enjoy luxury hotels and tourist village of South Goa. Beach is clean, well-groomed, well-equipped. The attractiveness of the beach is the space share of the tourist among themselves and those alike. So company might be a best choice of yours.

Miramar
Miramar is also known as Gaspar Dias. It is located 3 km from downtown Panaji, with a few she-pak forests. Children love to play in the sand on the beach, as these places are good for sunbathing and walking. Bathing in local waters is not completely safe though. The spot is ideal if you prefer to have a walk and spend your leisure time together with a group of friends or just have fun while playing with water.

Dona Paula
Gulf of Dona Paula is where two large Indian River meet the Arabian Sea. A magnificent view of the Mormugao harbor opens here. This is a cozy place, hidden on the south side of a rocky plateau that separates the full-flowing rivers. In the western part of the beach is the official residence of the Governor of Goa.
The beach is a paradise for lovers and has received its name in honor of Dona Paula de Menezes, daughter of the vice-governor, which, according to legend, threw herself from a cliff, when she was separated from her beloved fisherman. Her rebellious spirit still wanders in the neighborhood. It is said that on moonlit nights you can see her on the waves in a pearl necklace. This romantic history leads to the effect of possible stay with the beloved as the place believed to be a place for those who you like more.
In Dona Paula is one of the best sports clubs in Goa. You can do any kinds of water sports here.

Bogmalo
Bogmalo is small cove with a sandy beach surrounded by palm trees. Beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. It is only 4 km to Dabolim airport and 8 km to the port town of Vasco-Da-Gama. The waters are safe for swimmers, on the shore there are many cafes and souvenir shops. On the way to the beach is the Museum of naval aviation. In the depths of the coast you can see magnificent coconut groves. This beach is worth of visiting especially if your goal of visit is the active time spending in India.

So enjoy your rest while choosing one of these beaches offered that best fits your interest.

Mexico is getting prepared to host the world’s largest underwater museum. About 400 concrete figures will be lowered under the water in the Caribbean, a popular resort place with tourists not far from Cancun, which according to Mexican authorities, will attract tourist- divers to resort. This will influence at the same time into the shift of their attention from the coral reefs that have already suffered from the excessive interest of divers.

The thing is that each year, almost 300 thousand tourists visit the National Park of the West Coast in Quintana Roo on the Yucatan peninsula. Inexperienced divers examining the coral reefs often are breaking the corals into pieces with the flippers and spoil the air. Furthermore, this area has not received the status of a national park resort so tourists can climb up on the reefs, walk on them, crush and carry away the pieces, destroying the unique ecological structure.

According to the director of the National Park of the West Coast, to restore the original state of reefs may be possible only when the attention of divers will be diverted by something else which will attract the divers more. In the role of substitution the park administration has decided to create an underwater park of sculptures. The project will be led by Jason de Keyrs Taylor, the creator of the world’s first underwater sculpture park, which is located in Granada.

The statues, which will be placed on the seabed, will be made of a PH-neutral concrete, which can house the algae and shellfish, thus developing and maintaining the ecosystem of the coral reefs. Eventually, thanks to the growth of corals on the sculptures their original appearance will be changed. The first four concrete sculptures in human height should be lowered to the bottom in November. And only then the new Submarine Park will be opened for tourists.

A new tourist attraction has appeared in China’s Southwest Yunnan Province. City of real dwarfs, whose inhabitants are no bigger than 130 centimeters, is built here. Once you visit the city of Kunming, any low tourist feels a giant from a fairy tale – the houses are not only meant for “little people”, but are also built in the shape of mushrooms, and citizens are dressed as a fairy-tale heroes, reports The Telegraph. And although local residents claim that they came together to put an end to discrimination by the giants – people of normal growth, it is clear that an initial calculation of tourist attractions after all was done.

The city has its own police and fire services, where the same low people serve. One of the residents of Kunming, Fu Tian, in an interview said that the dwarfs are accustomed to the fact that they constantly ordered about by the big people. But there is nobody here, except for them, and everything they do they do just for themselves.

Of course, the idea of “ghetto” for short people would be loyal to the West anathema, but the Chinese authorities argue that, the account of labor force surplus in the country today is the best way to deal with the problem of discrimination of dwarfs.

Let us remind, that the world’s smallest girl is a 16-year-old Yoti Amge from India. 16 years old she is of a height with the usual year-old child, she has only 58 centimeters. But she is studying in an ordinary school, where a special desk and a chair were made for her. Yoti is recorded as the lowest girl in the Indian analogue of Guinness World Records – Book of Records “Limki”.

And the smallest man in the world lives in China, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Ho Pinpinu is 22 years old, his height is 73 cm. In his district, Ho was a local celebrity and relatives turned to the experts from the Guinness World Records. In 2009, Ho was officially recognized as the lowest man on earth.

The European Commission is concerned with the U.S. government plans to introduce a tax on tourists. The fact is that the U.S. Congress is now discussing the possibility of imposing a tax of $ 10 dollars for travelers entering the country, followed by the Program Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Introduced on January 12, it provides for the mandatory on-line approval to enter the United States. In most cases, approval is obtained in just a few minutes.

ESTA system is intended for residents of most major European countries, as well as Australia, Japan, Brunei, New Zealand, South Korea and Singapore. Tourists from these countries do not need to get additional visas for short visits to the United States.

U.S. authorities are planning to target tourist money to develop the tourist industry in country and attract new travelers. U.S. citizens and foreign tourists, who have already paid for a visa, will not have to pay a “tourist tax”.

The European Commission rightly believes that attracting tourists to the country with the additional levies is unlikely to succeed.

We recall that the Maldives are actively discussing the introduction of environmental tax, which will be paid for a vacation on the islands by foreign tourists. New tax of $ 3 dollars a day will allow the country to receive an additional approximately 6 million dollars a year. The money received the power of the Maldives Republic plan to launch at improving the environment, combat rising sea levels, and also, perhaps, for the purchase of new lands for local residents, whose islands slowly but surely go under water.

Introduction of tax from tourists is also discussed in Venice for several decades, which is not only flooded with the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, but crowds of tourists, many times exceeding the number of local residents. At the moment, City Council discusses the possibility of limiting access of travelers to Venice, intending to settle for a walk around the city only to those who paid for hotel and tickets to museums and excursions.

Trip Advisor the largest travel portal based on the opinions of its visitors concluded a list of ten cities, where you should closely monitor your wallet. Most pickpockets are active in the places of tourist’s maximum accumulation around the historic sites, but sometimes fraudsters in the quest for stranger’s purse are ingenious and have a good knowledge of psychology.

1. Barcelona

Merry tourist bustle on the broad sidewalks in Rambla is an ideal habitat for pickpockets. Once visited Barcelona the visitors often note that putting hands in the pockets of other people in this city has become a sort of a national sport. So before you freeze in admiration for the creations of Gaudi, hide your wallet a little deeper, or you will have to earn for a return ticket by sweeping the pavements in front of the creations of the great architect.

2. Rome

The striking architecture of the ancient city, full of historical events, leads tourists to such an excitement that they totally forget to monitor their wallets and cameras, which is not missed by smart local pickpockets. In the crowd of thousands of people who admire the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, hunters for another person’s property may be more than the tourists themselves.

3. PragueIncredibly beautiful and extremely narrow Charles Bridge is decorated with 30 beautiful statues in Baroque style. Every day tens of thousands of tourists are going to look at it, that’s why the bridge is crowded, as in the subway at rush hour. The tourist, trying to hold for a figure of good fortune and not be swept away with the passing crowd is a perfect victim for the pickpocket. Keep this in mind when, after drinking the excellent Czech beer, you will embrace the pedestal of the statue of St. John.

4. Madrid

Picturesque El Rastro – Madrid’s flea market is often mentioned as the most dangerous place for your pocket. Nor should you relax in museums, which are numerous in Madrid. Victims celebrate the incredible ingenuity of Madrid crooks. For example, a pretty senorita can point you to God knows a suddenly appeared stain on your jacket and begins to remove it with his handkerchief, and “casual” passers-by would help her. The result is obvious – you have no money, no camera, and no documents.

5. Paris

In Paris pickpockets are particularly active in the train from the airport Charles de Gaulle to the downtown. And their targets are often not only the tourists loaded with luggage, but also the Parisians themselves. And, of course, as usual, do not relax in the metro, museums, and at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

6. Florence

Florence is not inferior to the capital in the number of attractions, crowds of admiring tourists, and perhaps that not inferior in the number of virtuoso pickpockets. So, after looking at the majestic beauty of David by Michelangelo, instead of telling your friends the biblical story, it is better to get a stronger hold on your wallet.

7. Buenos Aires

Minor crooks of the capital of Argentine, basically use the same scheme as their Spanish counterparts. If during the inspection of the Colon Opera House stranger points you to the bird droppings on your shoulder and will kindly offer you to clean off with his napkin, which he already holds ready, get away from him. Otherwise, he will quickly clean your pockets.

8. Amsterdam

Amsterdam can easily lead travelers to a relaxed state by its friendly relaxed atmosphere, and tourists are often caught in the channels or into the hands of thieves, for whom it causes no difficulty to turn inside the pockets of a traveler overstayed in coffee shops.

9. Athens

Legendary ancient city is full of white marble of ancient monuments, and tourists can easily sink into the atmosphere of ancient Greek myths, completely forgetting about the modern dangers. As long as the eyes admire the perfection of the Parthenon on the Acropolis, the hand should firmly hold the bag.

10. Hanoi

The old quarter of the capital of Vietnam is literally strewn with the monuments of colonial architecture and hundreds of temples and pagodas, which attract crowds of tourists, and tourists, in their turn, attract fans of easy money. However, except for small thieves, we can say that Hanoi is one of the safest cities in the world.

Traveling and no money? Don’t panic and try to make them. How? Here are 20 ways to do that! May be one or two of them will bring success to you!

1. Entertain the Crowd
If you have any talent, and even if not, it is possible to earn by starting to sing, playing an instrument, reciting poetry, dancing hip-hop, showing a pantomime to passers-by on the street. Right, perhaps, you have to deal with competitors or with the police: Make sure that you’re not someone else’s place and do not break local rules. Or learn to run fast.

2. Get a job in a bookstore
If you want an intellectual work – go to the bookstore. But do not forget that for employment in a foreign country you may be required to have a work permit. Therefore, take advantage of alternative: work for berth and meals.

3. Learn to play online poker
Some travelers are financing their trips, earning money on the network. Only do not risk large sums, control the counting so you don’t lose a lot of money.

4. Do massage
Your relatives have repeatedly asked you to massage them and admired your hands? It’s time to gain on this by launching a freelance career as a masseur. You can find clients on the beach and other places where people relax and rest. Agree about cooperation with an inexpensive spa center, buy some aromatic oils and start to work. But remember: all your actions are illegal abroad without a working visa.

5. Recollect everything you learned
Can draw henna designs on hands, cut, weave braids, or make temporary tattoos? Offer your services to others!

6. Tell fortunes with cards
Take on travel a pack of Tarot or any other cards. A little imagination, the absolute self-confidence – and money are in your pocket. Of course, you shouldn’t take it seriously; suggest for a fun to tell fortunes to the bar visitors or people on the beach. But who knows, perhaps, your intuition will help to tell the future correctly.

7. The handicraftsman
You know how to make baskets weaving beaded adornment, knit, or draw pictures? Devote a few evening hours to your hobby and then sell your creations.

8. The peasant for an hour
Agricultural work is the easiest and fastest way to earn. Gathering fruits and vegetables long since attracted hippies, idealists and masochists. For your hard work, you can get not only some money, but also an invaluable reward like a rest on the nature and interesting acquaintances.

9. What does it cost to build a house?
The work on construction is a little less pleasant, but more paid. In return you will not only learn something, but also get a slim figure and steel muscles.

10. Career in a hotel
In some guest houses and small hotels you can agree on free accommodation and some earnings in exchange for cleaning the rooms. The work is not the most pleasant, but will bring money and help make new friends.

11. Competitor of the dishwasher
Cafés and restaurants often require people for subsidiary works in the kitchen. By the way, some well-known chefs, who are nowadays generally recognized, have started their career this way.

12. A role of guinea pig
If you do not usually worry about products’ expiry dates and your health in general, you can for a good compensation sacrifice yourself to the science and participate in drugs tests or other researches.

13. Sell your blood
Donation is one more way to earn. However, you can’t donate blood often, and not everybody can do it – there are many contraindications.

14. Become a model
You can, staring out the window, stand motionless for several hours? Why not get paid for it? The newspapers often advertise sitters looking for painters or models for photographers.

15. Act in film
For almost any movie, whether it is a picture of an unknown student or the famous Hollywood director, extras are required. Probably, you will sit in a restaurant next to Tom Cruise, give a light to Scarlett Johansson or admire from afar Angelina Jolie; and you will earn money. Besides, you will have what to boast friends.

16. Help nature
In civilized countries, people care about the ecology and reasonably concern to the waste recycling. That is why they are ready to pay for empty bottles, waste paper and other raw materials. Look in the dormitories’ dustbins – a lot of money is buried there. The work is not the cleanest, but in extreme cases, will not allow dying from hunger.

17. Sports
Often temporary workers are needed during sporting events. At one place a ‘boy’ is needed, collecting golf balls, in the other – rooms cleaner after the match.

18. Family/House assistant
Stroll through the private sector and offer your services: perhaps in one yard it is required to cut bushes, in the other – to repair a bicycle.

19. Tourist-speculator
Souvenir from one country may be exotic in another. So find out what unusual things you can buy in one country and sell in neighboring state.

20. Writer-traveler
Of course, the chief editor of National Geographic has not yet knocked your door, but this does not mean that you can’t try to sell your photos and travel notes to less eminent editions. Try to start with small – perhaps a famous writer sleeps inside you? Videos of rare sights and interesting events are not in less demand. And if you are lucky to witness a rare natural phenomenon or disaster, you can count on a considerable fee.

Not only owners of tour agencies or hotels, but also ordinary employees of hotels and restaurants, whose income in many ways depends on tips, have suffered from financial crisis. People became greedier, now they try to pay precisely what is in the bill, not knowing, that tip can be sometimes the only source of the income for the person who serves you.

Owners of some restaurants pay to employees normal salary, thus any infringement of rules, such us theft and swindle is instantly punished by dismissal. Tips at such restaurants are usually shared among everybody. Owners of other institutions believe, that, in spite of being carefully watched workers will take money in any case, and that is why they pay employees the minimal salaries, and sometimes they deprive waiters at all from constant earnings.

All restaurants choose for themselves the strategy between these two extreme measures. It seems that is the client is served good, then he will tip. But in practice not all visitors encourage polite and kind employees, and waiters sometimes start to demand money openly.

The situation is even worse with the house-maids now. If some especially impressionable individuals do not resist a unfortunate look of the waiter and pull out small charge from the wallet, then no one sees the good house-maid. The clean towels, the bed refuels, the floor washes, things are tidied up in your room as with the help of a magic stick. People try not to think, about who does it all, and do not leave tip. So the most heavy work remains without compensation.

If you wish to thank the house-maid, it is better to leave a little money every day, instead of a greater sum at the end. The point is that very frequently managers visit these rooms before the house-maid and take the money.

Where, whom and how much to pay

Great Britain
Tip needs to be given everywhere. It is considered normal to leave a 10-15 % over the sum specified in the bill. Exception is made in classical pubs where, traditionally, it is unaccepted. If you wish to thank the barman you can tell something like ” and one for yourself ” – so he would write down an additional mug of beer on your bill .

Germany
Tips are left everywhere, usually Germans are limited to 5-10 % from the account or simply give 1-2 euros.

Israel
At restaurants and cafe it is accepted to leave a 10 % a 10-15 % over the bill. As for taxi drivers and hairdressers then tip giving it is not accepted for them, though it would be better to round the fee while paying for the service.

Jordan
Going to Jordan one should take with himself many one-dollar banknotes. This banknotes are not considered to be a big sum in this country, and they would be very useful: it is necessary to be ready to tip to the right and to the left. As to all employees working with tourists they have low salaries, but they have got used earn additional money from the tips. Therefore it is necessary to leave on a bed,1-2 dollars every day otherwise cleaning of number would become very specific, also one should give 1 dollar to all porters in hotel (even if you have refused their services, they consider, that you owe them). Leave 3-5 dollars over the account from everyone sitting on a table at restaurant. And in spite of the fact that the tourist has already paid for excursion, at end of a trip the tourist would be demanded to pay 5 dollars to the guide and also to the driver.

Italy
Usually, but not always, a restaurant adds on bills about 2-3 euros on each visitor ” for bread ” and ” for service .” It is possible to leave 2-3 euros over it or 10 % more than the bill is.

Spain
The tips which make up to 5-10 % of the bill are basically left at the restaurants. For other services tip is not accepted.

The USA
Tip in this country is given everywhere. So, for example, the barman expects to receive a dollar over the price minimum for each cocktail prepared to you. Basically it is necessary to give 10-15 % over the check for any service, whether it is a supper at restaurant or a trip on a taxi.

France
Usually service charges at a rate of 15 % are already included on bills. However, you are expected to round the sum on the bill or even add 1-2 euros.

Japan
Do not leave the tip in Japan in any situation neither in a taxi, nor at restaurants, or to porters. Give a tip to someone here is considered offensive because you have, in fact, already payed for service.
