Ithaa Underwater Restaurant in Maldives
Exciting underwater and gastronomic adventures await guests of the unique restaurant in the Maldives. Restaurant “Ithaa” (means “pearl” in local language) is made of glass and is completely immersed under the water, which allows you to go deep into the water world. Above Ithaa is a five meter water column of the Indian Ocean and that’s why it is surrounded by colorful world of coral reefs. Visitors can admire the panorama of the sea depths, in other words a pleasant time for an exquisite dinner which will not only admire you with its unique scene but also with a great menu. Meanwhile the dinner is not cheap – the most modest cost will be around U.S. $ 200, tip is not included. But anyways for those who prefer to have a total exotic rest this cannot be something to get bothered with.

Aquarium technology had been used to ensure that guests will be face to face with the underwater world. A distinctive feature of “Ithaa” is rounded and transparent acrylic walls with 270 degrees of panoramic view which ensures more of an impression-giving. Few visitors can resist the enthusiastic exclamations, when in front of them coral fishes and manta rays starting to dance or huge sea-creatures such as sharks are making their way through the labyrinths of the multiple sea-plants.
Currently another interesting feature has been naturally created which will be attracting even more visitors: the corals grow unique underwater gardens. These gardens are super-bright due to their complex construction and variety of shapes. This is one of the only aquarium places where the floor is not transparent, as most of the time in various places you can walk over the sea-world, but here the floor is serving as a hidden place for important communications underneath of it.
If you consider that the over-crowded aquarium restaurants are not exactly what you need, as the quiet atmosphere is more relevant to you then this the best spot to visit. Here only 14 people can be served in this restaurant at a time- this creates the illusion of complete isolation from the outside world and makes the place even cozier: just several people and spectacular underwater spectacle.
The menu will also be in taste of the cuisine gurus. Dishes are not less colorful and exotic than the whole scene. The basis of the menu is modern cuisine of Maldives (“contemporary Maldivian”) with local spices and traditional flavors accompanied with a Western twist. However, you also can eat here almost anything which is being offered in best restaurants of London and New York. Choice of wine is a vast, but the main supplier is the house of Louis Roederer Champagne (France).Except this the cooks are always there to make you wishes come true and most of the time they will prepare the delicacy which will be suggested by you.

The only question left is how to get to this secret place? Well, it might sound a little bit funny but the restaurant can be reached by a wooden walkway from the nearby over-water Sunset Grill Restaurant, which is too big not to get noticed.
The restaurant is built on the island Rangalifinolhu- one of the twin islands, where Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is located (former Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa). This fact also seems to be rather interesting as the time spent in the restaurant can be called an attractive island-leisure-water-land-wonder.
